Gym memberships, drinking more water, eating healthier. About 45 percent of Americans make New Year's Resolutions, and 38 percent of those are weight or fitness related, according to a study in the Journal of Clinical Psychology.

Of those resolutions, fewer than half of those that make them, about 46 percent, keep them past six months.

While employers encourage participation in workplace wellness programs, especially in the new year, healthy meals start at home.

Celebrity chef Mareya Ibrahim has released her top eight healthy food and beverage food trends for 2017, citing sustainable solutions to healthy eating as a theme.
