Summary

Combustible dust hazards are a critical safety concern, posing significant risks of fires, explosions, and operational disruptions across industries. The newly issued NFPA 660: Standard for Combustible Dusts represents a transformative step forward, consolidating six previously independent standards—including NFPA 61, 484, 652, 654, 655, and 664—into a unified framework. This harmonized approach simplifies compliance, enhances clarity, and strengthens risk mitigation for facilities handling combustible dusts.

Historically, navigating multiple overlapping standards created challenges for industries. NFPA 660 eliminates these barriers by offering a single, cohesive guideline to streamline combustible dust hazard management. This webinar is tailored for engineers, safety professionals, plant managers, and compliance officers, providing a comprehensive introduction to the standard’s updates, implications, and applications.

Key Topics Include:

  • Overview of NFPA 660: Explore how this standard consolidates and unifies combustible dust guidance from prior NFPA documents
  • Major Changes and New Requirements: Discover what’s new in NFPA 660 and how it impacts compliance efforts
  • Hazard Analysis and Dust Control: Understand the updated protocols for assessing and managing dust hazards
  • Practical Compliance Roadmap: Learn actionable steps to align your systems, processes, and training with NFPA 660
  • Industry-Specific Applications: Dive into tailored strategies for sectors such as food processing, metalworking, woodworking, and chemical manufacturing
