The Future Leaders program was created to support and encourage EHS students as they respond to the challenges of the 21st century workplace and lead the way in keeping tomorrow’s workers safe, healthy and on the job. The program was launched by PureSafety, a leading provider of results-driven software and information solutions for work force safety and health, and EHS Today.
The scholarship panel selected Townsell based on his work and life experience; community outreach efforts; academic performance; his interest in teaching and mentoring EHS students; and his dedication to the EHS field. Townsell is a married father of three who hopes to one day work in an executive safety management position and teach EHS at the college level.
In addition to the scholarship, Townsell will serve on the EHS Today Editorial Advisory Board for 2 years and will be profiled in a special section of the December 2010 issue of EHS Today. Columbia Southern University also will receive 1 year of free access to PureSafety’s work force safety and health software and information solutions.
