Podcast: The Evolving Role of Technology in Workplace Safety

Nov. 5, 2024
Ryan Magee, Cority's new CEO, offers his insights into how AI can empower EHS professionals to help keep their workers safe.

In late September, Cority, a provider of EHS and sustainability solutions, promoted Ryan Magee to CEO, succeeding Mark Wallace, who retired after leading the company for over 20 years. Magee joined Cority in 2012 and had been the company’s chief financial officer (CFO) since 2017.

In this podcast, Magee shares his thoughts on the impact that technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), is having on workplace safety, and what the future looks like for EHS professionals hoping to leverage new technology. “AI technology [offers] a tremendous opportunity in EHS and there are so many different ways that it can empower users,” he explains, adding that Cority focuses on applying AI in four broad ways: task assistance, insights and artifacts, expert support, and personalization and engagement.

Magee also offers his insights into the level of commitment that companies are making with their sustainability initiatives, and how technology can help them with their sustainability projects.
