The Biggest Challenges for Safety Professionals in 2024

The survey says: There's no shortage of workplace challenges for safety leaders.

What is the biggest challenge you face as a safety professional?

A simple question, maybe, but the answers are as diverse and specific as the nature of safety leadership itself.

As part of the 2024 National Safety & Salary Survey, EHS Today solicited open-ended answers to the “biggest challenge” question, leading to a wide range of challenges from the 631 participants in the survey.

We chose a selected group of comments to give you an insight into the minds of safety professionals. While many said basically the same thing, i.e., “We need more time/help/money,” quite a few respondents focused on specific challenges that illustrate how dedicated they are, and often, how frustrated they are.
