James Thatcher
James J. Thatcher Ph.D., has 25 years of experience in the oil and gas, metals/minerals and chemical industry, with management positions in engineering, operations, human resources, safety, health and environment, and training and security. He has an M.S. in mechanical engineering, a Ph.D. in psychology/organizational development, and is retired from the U.S. Marine Corps with the rank of Colonel. Thatcher is the past president of the National Safety Management Society and currently serves on their board of directors. He is closely associated with the World Safety Association and is listed in the United Nations directory as an expert in the field of safety, health, training and security.
Currently, Thatcher is the advisor for safety, health, training, environmental and security programs for EnCana Oil and Gas Co., headquartered in Denver. He is also the president of Global Safety Solutions, LLC, a consulting firm located in Castle Rock, Colo.
