Meeting Germs at the Gym [Infographic]

April 14, 2016
Even in wellness, safety is important.

When it comes to wellness, the gym is an obvious first choice on the path to good health.

However, an infographic created by FitRated.com, a fitness review site, reveals how many unhealthy germs could be lurking on that fitness equipment. For example, free weights can have 362 times more germs than a toilet seat.

To avoid contracting something that will detract from your wellness plan, FitRated.com offers a few tips:

  • Disinfect machines before and after use.
  • Don’t walk around barefoot.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Wash your hands and change your clothes right after a workout.
