Forklifts and Pedestrians Do Not Mix! [Infographic]

May 21, 2014
More than one-third of the deaths each year attributed to forklifts are pedestrians.

OSHA, on May 20, announced it had cited Nicholson Terminal & Dock Co. with nine violations, including two willful and seven serious.

On Nov. 19, 2013, a worker was struck and killed by a 62,000-pound-capacity forklift carrying a 40,000-pound steel coil. As a result, the company has been placed in OSHA's Severe Violator Enforcement Program.

As this infographic from Aislecop suggests, separate people and vehicles via physical barriers when possible and ensure drivers are alert and aware of pedestrians in the area.
