OSHA Violations, PFAS Regulations and a Change in Leadership: What You’re Reading This Month
Last night, we had our first true snowfall of the season. The leaves still on the trees were covered, and the leaves piled up for collection made it look like the end of January, when the plows push the compacted snow ever higher on the curb.
I jokingly asked my friend in Chicago if he had enough milk and bread to sustain him through the snowstorm. He said he had enough food, but no snow shovel. Before the Midwestern riot, he just moved there in the spring, so his trips to the hardware store have been for paint, yard supplies and a new bathroom vanity.
I said that I need to start preparing for the changing season like the squirrels scampering in the yard. While I hope the weather doesn’t thwart my holiday travel plans, I am looking forward to the winter season.
Regardless of the current conditions outside your window, I hope you’re able to lean in to the approaching winter solstice. I hope you’re also able to find ideas and approaches in some of EHS Today’s most popular stories of November.
Whether you’re curious to know how your salary compares to your colleagues in our annual National Safety & Salary Survey or wondering how to prepare for the quadrennial changing of the guard in Washington, D.C., there’s always something to be learning and doing. But, if you’re feeling a little overwhelmed, take a moment to reflect on how to keep calm and carry on.
Until next time, keep safe, be well and stay warm!
