Safety Professionals’ Worth, Monkeypox at Work and OSHA Fines: What You’re Reading in August

Aug. 26, 2022
A look at the most popular stories this month, as determined by you.

Where has the time gone? It's difficult to believe it's already the end of August!

While we are looking forward to sweater weather, apple picking and apple donuts, we're also mourning the loss of those carefree, lazy days of summer.

Fall and it's crisp weather ushers in the return to school, resumption of conferences (including the Safety Leadership Conference), Q4 2022 planning, Q1 2023 planning, all the books closing and a bunch of holidays thrown in for good measure. In other words, things are about to get busy.

We enjoy these annual activities and festivities (almost) as much as the next person, there's something to be said for grilling meats and veggies, biting into fresh watermelons and afternoons spent at the beach. We're going to do our darndest and soak up—and savor—these remaining days of summer.

We encourage you to look back at some of the most popular stories of August, as determined by EHS Today readers, to help you prepare for whatever lies ahead. Please let us know what you're working on, struggling with or share any other work problems you have in the comments below. We'll do our best to track down answers and offer suggestions. After all, we all have the same goal of having the safest workplace possible.

And, if you're looking for ideas or inspiration, stay tuned for the reveal of our 2022 America's Safest Companies. Winners will be announced Oct. 19 at the Safety Leadership Conference in Cleveland, and they will be profiled in our September/October print issue.
