The National Safety Council (NSC) named Ted Borek Jr., a veteran healthcare executive with both business and nonprofit experience, as its new executive vice president and chief operating officer.

As NSC''s chief executive in charge of day-to-day business operations, Borek will be responsible for business development and growth in support of the council''s mission to reduce deaths and injuries.

"Ted Borek''s background and experience in both corporate and nonprofit settings make him ideally suited to help lead the NSC to the next level of growth and accomplishment," said NSC President Alan McMillan. "Ted''s proven business acumen, coupled with his knowledge of association management, will help strengthen the council''s relationships with its partners in the private, public and nonprofit sectors"

Most recently, Borek has been chief operating officer of The Borek Group, a healthcare consulting company based in Dallas, Texas.
