American Industrial Hygiene Association Endorses Caylor for Top MSHA Post
The trade association sent a letter of support from AIHA President Donna Doganiero, CIH, to Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao to express AIHA's recommendation of Caylor. Doganiero in the letter said Caylor's experience and qualifications align with those AIHA feels are necessary for any individual appointed to lead MSHA.
"AIHA believes Mr. Caylor's view of MSHA is similar to that of AIHA members serving on the front line of occupational health and safety," Doganiero said in the letter. "MSHA's mission remains important, but we must all work to strengthen the agency's effectiveness. These changes involve comprehensive, integrated efforts to focus the agency's relationships and resources on promoting health and safety in mining."
Caylor currently is vice president of safety and industrial hygiene for Crescent Technology Inc. He serves as a senior level, results-oriented safety management and training executive with more than 30 years experience in many aspects of safety management, management training and industrial hygiene management in the mining sector, according to AIHA. Caylor also has served as deputy assistant secretary of labor for MSHA.
Caylor has extensive experience in protecting workers in the mining industry. He previously has been responsible for regulatory reviews, major accident investigations and consulting, according to AIHA.
