Small Business Forum Held in Western Massachusetts

OSHA will hold a small business forum to help small New England companies meet their workplace safety and health obligations.

OSHA will hold a small business forum in Springfield, Mass., to help small New England companies meet their workplace safety and health obligations on Thursday, Jan. 13.

The forum will take place from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Western New England College, St. Germain Campus Center.

According to Ruth McCully, New England regional administrator for OSHA, the program, "OSHA and Small Business: New Ways of Working," will showcase information and services available to help small businesses improve safety and health.

"We hope that small employers throughout New England will take advantage of this opportunity to learn how easy it can be to get the help they need in order to meet their obligations under the OSH Act," said McCully.

The half-day program will include a panel of occupational safety and health professionals who can answer employers' questions about various topics.

Issues to be discussed include:

Compliance policies and assistance for small businesses;
Sources of technical advice, including demonstrations of new OSHA Expert Advisor programs; and
Parntership opportunities for small businesses including consultation and Voluntary Protection Programs.
