In this year when the entire world has been put on alert and advised to follow personal health and safety protocols of an unprecedented, there’s no better time to celebrate excellence in safety leadership. Once again, we’re proud to announce the winners of the annual America’s Safest Companies awards. These awards are in conjunction with EHS Today’s Safety Leadership Conference 2020, which originally was scheduled to be held in Scottsboro, Ariz., but as happened with every other major safety event this year, is being held virtually. (And being a virtual show, you’ll be able to attend all the sessions at your leisure; go to www.safetyleadershipconference.com for all the details.)
In the application to be considered as one of America’s Safest Companies, organizations must demonstrate excellence in several areas: support from leadership and management for EHS efforts; employee involvement in the EHS process; innovative solutions to safety challenges; injury and illness rates lower than the average for their industries; comprehensive training programs; evidence that prevention of incidents is the cornerstone of the safety process; good communication about the value of safety; and a way to substantiate the benefits of the safety process.
America’s Safest Companies was founded in 2002 by EHS Today and to date more than 250 companies have been recognized with this annual award. We hope these profiles-in-safety resonate with you, and we invite you to consider applying for the ASC award in 2021.
