Nov. 11, 2019
Our annual look at the companies setting the benchmark for excellence in safety leadership.

It’s time again to celebrate excellence in safety leadership with our annual profiles of the winners of the America’s Safest Companies 2019 awards. These awards are in conjunction with EHS Today’s Safety Leadership Conference 2019 in Dallas, Texas.

In the application to be considered as one of America’s Safest Companies, organizations must demonstrate excellence in several areas: support from leadership and management for EHS efforts; employee involvement in the EHS process; innovative solutions to safety challenges; injury and illness rates lower than the average for their industries; comprehensive training programs; evidence that prevention of incidents is the cornerstone of the safety process; good communication about the value of safety; and a way to substantiate the benefits of the safety process.

The winning companies for 2019 are: Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems; CPS Energy; CSA Ocean Sciences Inc.; East & Westbrook Construction Company Inc.; Four Seasons Hotel, Houston; Helix Electric; Honda of SC; IBM Corporation; Mark Young Construction; Pratt & Whitney; RedGuard; Roco Rescue; Scot Forge; Swift & Staley Inc.; UCOR; and United Scrap Metal Inc.
