Plant Tour of Milliken’s New Holland Plant
Gain an insider’s view of Milliken’s Lean processes when you tour this 110-year-old plant in Gainsville, GA. During the tour, you will discover that while this 750,000 square foot plant operates a highly diversified product platform on five floor levels, it does so safely and efficiently. New Holland has realized a loss on yield of less than 2.6 percent and inventory turns have increased 23 percent in the past 12 months. Raw material days are down 25 percent to just 3 days. Discover how Milliken’s Performance System allows New Holland and all Milliken plants to operate lean with safety as the foundation. New Holland has operated more than 1,239 days without a recordable incident. You will see firsthand that New Holland’s safety and Lean processes are made possible through its 220 highly engaged associates, eight safety committees and five Lean teams.

Craig has been with Milliken & Company for more than 36 years. Craig led two study missions to Japan which resulted in Milliken receiving the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. His career has included leadership positions in Industrial Engineering, Product Development, Business Management, Corporate Education, and Recruiting. Craig has served on Milliken’s Policy Committee and served as a Corporate Officer for the past 13 years and has been a member, and past chair, of the U.S. Quality Council of the Conference Board.
Phil McIntyre, MBA

Phil’s career with Milliken & Company spans 22 years and started with a co-op position while he attended Clemson University and earned his Industrial Engineering degree. Phil has served the company as Market Manager for a number of the company’s consumer products. Phil directed several Milliken divisions’ efforts in process improvement and cost improvement.
Chris Glover

Chris has more than 25 years of manufacturing experience at Milliken. A Georgia Institute of Technology Chemical Engineering graduate, Chris has led Lean enterprise facilitation, project management and leadership development and is an expert at design, development and delivery of training which supports the Milliken Performance System. Chris has served many roles—from Production Manager and Process Improvement Leader to Quality Assurance Leader and Plant Leader.
