Jeffress Headlines Pennsylvania OSHA Conference

The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry Educational Foundation's 2000 OSHA & Workplace Safety Conference will take place May 17-18 in Harrisburg, Pa.

The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry Educational Foundation will welcome hundreds of businesses, corporations and exhibitors to the 2000 OSHA & Workplace Safety Conference: Comprehensive OSHA Training For Anyone in Charge of Workplace Safety May 17-18 in Harrisburg, Pa.

Taking the podium on Wednesday, May 17, OSHA Administrator Charles N. Jeffress will give the keynote address.

"Since its inception nearly 30 years ago, OSHA has created well over 4,000 detailed regulations resulting in billions of dollars worth of fines for businesses," said Sharon Roth, PA Chamber director of regulatory affairs. "This event is specifically designed to help businesses better prepare for inspections, avoid costly fines and increase their understanding of what it takes to maintain a profitable and accident-free workplace."

Pennsylvania businesses will get even more first-hand information from state OSHA officials, including Richard Soltan, regional administrator for OSHA in Philadelphia, John McFee, regional safety specialist, OSHA, Philadelphia, Robert Fink, area director, OSHA, Harrisburg, Matt Humphreville, safety and occupational health specialist, OSHA, Harrisburg.

Session topics cover areas such as powered industrial truck, hazard communications, OSHA inspections, bloodborne pathogens, lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment and ergonomics.
