Why Road Safety Matters [Infographic]

Feb. 12, 2016
More than 1 million people around the world – motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists – die each year as a result of traffic crashes.

Traffic incidents are the No. 1 cause of workplace fatalities in the United States, and around the world, traffic incidents kill 1.25 million people each year.

Unless something is done, traffic accidents are predicted to become the seventh leading cause of death worldwide by 2030. Worldwide, half of the people who die in traffic accidents are considered “vulnerable road users:” pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists.

This infographic submitted by David E. Young, owner of Accident-Diagram, highlights some facts on road traffic injuries that many of us might not know, as well as the causes of road accidents and some important road safety tips.
