Each year, more than 440,000 people are treated at hospitals, doctor’s offices and emergency rooms for winter sports-related injuries, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. These injuries include an estimated:
144,000 injuries from snow skiing
148,000 injuries from snow boarding
58,500 injuries from ice skating
91,000 injuries from sledding and tobogganing

The 125 employees at Baldor Electric's Belton, S.C. facility have worked 4.5 million hours without a lost-time incident. That's 17 years without an injury that caused an employee to miss work.
