First Responders Congress to Draw Emergency Personnel from Diverse Fields

The First Responders Congress will convene in Albuquerque, N.M., March 16-19 to provide a forum for the first responder community to examine complex issues ranging from natural disasters, terrorist attacks, search and rescue efforts, emergency scenarios and more.

Experts will share best practices with a variety of service groups at the congress. Firefighting, police, military, search and rescue and homeland security personnel, as well as emergency response organizations, trainers and other industry professionals, will attend the event to share and learn about radiation protection, intelligent instruments and response to hazardous airborne materials, among other topics.

Conference highlights include:

  • A First Responder Issues for Airborne Materials roundtable discussion, which features a panel of five nationally and internationally distinguished experts;
  • Hazmat presentations addressing basic radiation instrumentation, protection and risk assessment; and
  • Technology seminars that highlight specific instruments and networking systems designed to make emergency response safer and more efficient.

Attendees also will enjoy networking opportunities and the chance to explore exhibits demonstrating the latest techniques and technologies in emergency response.
