2016 American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition Overview

AIHce 2016 will run May 21-26 in Baltimore, Md.

The 2016 Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition (AIHce) runs May 21-26 in Baltimore, Md.

Adam Steltzner of NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover Project on May 23 will deliver the opening keynote presentation, “The Right Kind of Crazy: A True Story of Teamwork, Leadership and High Stakes Innovation.”

Steltzner for a decade led the group of engineers who created the Sky Crane landing system used to land the Mars Rover Curiosity on the planet in 2012.

A number of other technical sessions will take place during the conference, including “Women Leaders in the Occupational Safety and Health Movement,” “Outstanding Environmental and Occupational Health Issues: Comparing the Situation in the United States and Globally” and “Fatigue and Shiftwork: Why Is Everyone So Tired 24/7?”

The general session May 24 will be hosted by AIHA President Daniel H. Anna and feature Dr. David Michaels, assistant secretary of labor, and Dr. John Howard, director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. The session, “The AIHce Morning Show: Pathways to Progress in Science and Practice,” will be followed by an ask-the-expert session with Michaels and Howard.
